It crossed my mind that WE all could be as hopeless as he was:
"The thought of my affliction and my homelessness is wormwood and gall!" - Lamentation 3:19

But thanks be to God, He chose to give us hope, as the verses that follow read:

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul,
‘therefore I will hope in him.’"
(Lamentations 3:22-24)

It's not that we're better, it's just that we have the Savior who rescues us from our hopelessness.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27762683.post-72737628969417569272007-04-20T00:48:00.000-05:002007-04-20T00:48:00.000-05:00Donna O, Thank you very much for your comment. The saddest part to me is the implied hopelessness for life the shooter must have felt. Jesus went to the cross that we might have life and hope! I pray that people turn to God and find hope, so that others won't turn on their fellowmen and then on themselves. May God, who is the god of all comfort, grant grace and strength to the affected families.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
